O is for OCD

Dirt and filth left by a slob,
These are things seen in my job.
Nursing homes that smell like pee,
That is why I'm OCD!

Cock-a-roaches by the score,
Human feces on the floor.
What's that? Oh, a thousand fleas,
That is why I'm OCD!

Nasty dishes, nasty clothes, nasty smells stay in my nose.
Nasty people, nasty dogs, why do some folks live like hogs!?

Dirty diapers on the couch,
A rat just bit me! F***ing Ouch!
Think I'll bathe in bleach and lye,
I'm OCD...now you know why.

  1. LOVE IT! I love how you can find humour in the worst scenarios. I admire that you can see humans at their worst and still stay positive and keep your sense of humour. Inspiring.

  2. This post made me laugh. I am not anal about keeping my house clean. I am not looking for "best housekeeper" on my tombstone but I do not like living in a pigsty either. Sometimes I get too critical of myself, not having enough hours in the day to do all I want to do, and then my husband comes home and says, You would not believe the house we had to work on today. (he is a painter) He described a toilet that had not been cleaned in years that he was supposed to pull out as they were doing a bathroom remodel. Ick! Made me feel better about my housekeeping abilities though. ;)

  4. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...It is usually a congenital trait, but I have been exposed to such nastiness and filth in my job, I believe I am the first confirmed case of aquired OCD! LOL!

  6. This made my day! (I'm a little OCD myself. Not certifiable, but still...)

I’m blogging my way back from Z to A and yes, I do realize that is evidence of my insanity.

  7. Nursing homes can be nasty, but you can't really blame the elderly. It's so sad when people need constant care.

  8. Joyce...I don't blame the residents of these facilities. Though there are many homes out there that are clean and caring, my work has shown me that there are just as many, if not more that are lacking in many areas. I have contemplated blogging about this topic, but the abuses are so widespread and in some cases, so horrendous, I need to put much more thought toward it before I make my specific observations public.
